The way of being is shared discovery and realization of ultimates in, for, and from immediate worlds. Reason: quality of being. Means: reason and action. Reasoning is spelled out—there is no dogma. Conclusions (a) the universe—which has identity—and all beings are shown to be limitless and, so, the universe phases eternally between the nonmanifest and the ultimate (b) this is shown consistent with experience (c) limits commonly seen as absolute (e.g., birth and death) are real but not absolute (e) in the ultimate, all beings merge as peak being (f) meaningful paths to the ultimate require intelligent and shared action and acceptance of shared pleasure and pain (g) from limitlessness, the way is ever-fresh adventure. Doubt should be sustained; rational and existential responses to doubt are given. Sources—human cultures, experience, action, and reflection. The way of being overlaps philosophy and what is meaningful in religion. Why ‘being’? (i) Being is about what there is and so makes no assumption on the nature of the world, which may seem to mark it as trivial but (ii) being is a powerful container for ultimate knowledge and the nature and destiny of the world and human beings.
