Dear Kathleen,

Congratulations… I hope your "new" life is rewarding and that you get out of life all that you want. I enjoyed your brief visit last summer. It seemed that you and Scott are a good match and he is caring and warm. I truly wish you both well.

I am hurrying to get this note off as the June 8 deadline for RSVPs is coming up. I made a request to have a few days off then but I am not sure I will get them as I had already asked for a week off in July and summer is when most people are wanting time off.

I have been meaning to get in touch with you - yes, I did get your phone message. I have been really busy… and somewhat stressed. I have a new girlfriend [as of January] and it is quite wonderful but it is really difficult managing work, my personal projects, and a social life. This is, of course, not an excuse and I am sorry for not getting in touch earlier; I continue to think of you as an excellent friend and think I always will.

On a personal note… my girlfriend is Marta, she is an R.N. and works where I do; she grew up in Eureka; we worked together about 2 years before beginning to go out. She is funny, good company - I think you'd like her. We're going to take a long weekend June 6 - June 8 and head out east on Highway 299, do some camping if the weather is good… My dad has moved to a new apartment where there is a live in caretaker who will respond to a call bell if my dad is in need - Robin found him on the floor, one day, at his old apartment and there was harm done, he had fallen and did not have the strength to get up… My projects are going well, the Internet Site is growing and the number of visitors continues to increase. I feel that I have learned the key issues I identified earlier, now need to elaborate and consolidate, communicate and live out: the ideas  become real when they are part of life.

I shall have to get in touch again soon, by phone and by mail. Meanwhile, all the best to you and Scott.

Love,
