Day before yesterday was the winter solstice - one of my favorite days because the days begin to get longer.
Its been cold and I think, after four days of it - 35 degrees in my bedroom this morning - I'm beginning to get used to it.

I hope you have a good Christmas and New Year with much warmth.

The national political scene is kinda depressing. How can people be so mean minded...and petty? So many pressing domestic and foreign issues need attention. So much potential wasted.

Thanks for your occasional emails on issues of importance. I'm a Chomsky admirer - somewhat. I just recently read something about his recent work on linguistics. Have read some of his political writing...am looking at "What Uncle Sam Really Wants" as I write. Two main things I get from his writing. 1. Massive distortion/withholding of information is rampant in the public domain. What is really happening? 2. Abundance of wealth here equates to poverty and effective slavery elsewhere...What are the implications for our lives?

There is some good progress in my life...I'll describe it at another time.

I hope you are doing well relative to the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism and your other hopes. Hope you are enjoying every day. Hope you have contentment and peace.
