Dear Carissa,

I’m just now getting to sending out ‘Season’s Greetings.’ I have had the flu and would work and come home to rest with no time for anything else. But I do want to say sorry for not sending this to you earlier

As always, I want you to know that I love you and hope only the best for you. You are always welcome to call me – you can call me collect. I am usually at home in the mornings and away from home, at work, in the evenings so mornings are the best time to call

My life is ‘mixed.’ Some things are good – I enjoyed my vacation last fall and had some good hikes and ideas. I spent a week in the state of Washington that included a few days in Seattle. I liked Seattle – it is a lot like San Francisco though smaller – but I do not think I would like to live there since I like nature so much. There are other towns near Seattle which might be good to live and Bellingham, north of Seattle and near the Canadian border is one that I would consider. After Seattle, I visited the San Juan Islands and then the Olympic Peninsula which is west of Seattle. The Olympic National Forest is in the middle of the peninsula and I enjoyed driving up the mountain road to close to the top but did not hike there; the western edge is very wet and is home to a rain forest. I also visited the “Most Northwest point in the lower 48 states.” It is wild and rugged and home to the Makah Indians who, in 1998, resumed the whale hunt that they had stopped in the 1920’s

Here at home in Arcata, I’m still working at the Mental Health facility and in my spare time I enjoy writing and going out on the town. I sometimes wish I had a girl friend but I don’t. I haven’t been exercising much lately but I want to take that up again

I’m going to end here with much love to you

Anil
