The Inspector

You use the Adobe PageMill Inspector to specify attributes associated with an entire page, selected text, or a selected object (such as an image, a horizontal rule, a form element, or a table).

Using the Inspector

The Inspector is a floating palette that provides information on the current page or on selected page elements. It contains four panels that provide controls and options for various objects:

  • The Frame panel provides control over frame layout, size, and other options for working on a frame-based page.
  • The Page panel provides options for the current page.
  • The Forms panel provides options for the CGI script associated with the form when working on a page with a form.
  • The Object panel provides options for selected images, tables, plug-ins, and other objects.
  • The Frame and Object panels are unavailable when no frame, or object is selected. The entire Inspector is inactive when the page is in Preview mode.

To enter text in a panel's text box:

Click in the text box, type the text, and then press "Enter." Alternatively, you can just enter your text, and then click somewhere outside of that text box. Some of the larger text boxes, such as those for the Placeholder and Non-understood HTML, register text returns (line breaks) when "Enter" is pressed, so there, for the information to be registered, you can just enter your text, and then click somewhere out of that text box.
